Good evening,
Well, the expected happened. Regardless of whether you think the change came too early or too late, I thought that I would share some personal thoughts and learnings from the lockdown v.01 back in March.
As we enter lockdown v.02, you could be forgiven for feeling weary and wanting to simply hibernate, however, my overall encouragement is to keep going, push on, show that grit and drive on with power! Here are a couple of my top tips:
Keep Your Head Above The Parapet
One of the biggest things that I would recommend is to keep your head above the parapet and push on with marketing. If anything, it’s a good idea to do it more!
Why do I say this? Because your competitors may simply turn it down and give you the opportunity to take their space.
Whilst you may not be able to trade in the same way as you have been over the past few months, take the opportunity to build your brand through things such as:
- Using every completed project as a marketing tool
- Leverege email marketing
- Provide advice and guidance
- Pre-book appointments or give discounts to those who pay a deposit in November
Remember that social media is a brilliant channel to keep in touch with your audience – particularly as they are more likely to be at home a little more over the coming weeks.
Communication Is King
Do you have regular customers? If so, make sure to keep in touch with them to see if there is any additional support you can provide.
Remember to them know any operational changes that you may have brought in. For example, I received an email as soon as the announcement came out from Uber Eats reminding me that they were still trading.
Take the opportunity to build on the relationship that you have with your customers and remember Einstein’s wise words: “Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value” as by becoming of value, you will certainly become a success!
Always Be Positive
Whilst I don’t doubt that this a particularly challenging time, it’s important to remember to be positive; in your approach and messaging alike.
As businesses, we need to be there to support each other and help each other pull through the pandemic to the other side stronger than ever before!
I hope that you found this helpful and if you would like any advice on your marketing or social media strategy over the coming weeks/months then feel free to drop me an email at nathanbrown@robusmarketing.com.
