Remember, it is extremely important to use the time you have now as an opportunity in order to return stronger and ahead of the competition!
Capitalising on this opportunity is all about adapting and doing so quickly. As the famous Chinese proverb says: The wise adapt themselves to circumstances, as water moulds itself to the pitcher.
Here are our top five ways to adapt your marketing:
- Build a pipeline ahead of time: With many businesses simply trying to maintain the status quo and survive, now is a brilliant time to put time and effort into generating new leads that will turn into customers at a later date.
- Retain any customers who pause: Keep in touch, let them know you are still here. Build up a communications strategy and be sure to know when the right time is to make that call to kick things off again. Communicate, engage, listen, remain valuable to them and be creative in doing so.
- Understand your customers new problems: Your customers (or potential customers) will have new problems that you can tap into and possibly even help with. Can you adapt your services to address these? Remember, your job is solving their problems.
- Adjust ALL your marketing campaigns and scheduled content: What you were doing even two weeks ago is probably no longer relevant. If you have not yet adapted, then you should do so quickly! Pause, prioritise and refocus your plan.
- Be flexible & remain positive: Every business is facing very similar challenges. Businesses that are not flexible, taking into the current situation, are likely to suffer damage to their reputation. Use the opportunity to be flexible (within reason) and build your reputation by doing so.
