We’re very sorry, but very soon we will be hitting the festive season and figuring out how to pass the gravy boat at our virtual Christmas dinners as we all retreat to our homes for the festive season.
With only eight weeks until December, now is the time to start planning your Christmas marketing strategy and if you don’t have one, then then we really think you should!
Whilst 2020 is a year that many of us will want to wipe from our memories, it is absolutely vital to stay ahead in every way you can, so here are our four top suggestions:
1) Christmas Cards
We always advise sending your clients and contacts a Christmas card. This is a very non-intrusive way to help keep you front and centre of their mind. Whilst you may be tempted to include a special offer or promotion in your card, we strongly advise against this.
You may be unsure whether it is a good idea to send a greetings card this year due to COVID-19 risks and an alternative would be to send some form of e-card and perhaps make a donation to charity for the costs of printing & posting Christmas cards.
We will need to see what guidance is issued when it comes to sending Christmas cards and whilst Royal Mail advised it was safe to send Mother’s Day cards in March, we recommend that you do your own research about which route would be better for 2020!
2) Products & Promotions
You certainly do not want to jump on the Christmas bandwagon, however, it is well worth thinking about any promotions that your customers would benefit from. For example, we will be offering things such as:
- Festive signature strips
- One-off Social Media December advertising packages
- Unique, high-quality social media posts
- Animated videos as an alternative to Christmas Cards
- Christmas card design & printing
These may be things that are low value, but could certainly be a great way of adding value to your client relationships!
3) Advertising Space
Printed advertising can be quite expensive, however, you may want to think about taking out an advert in a relevant magazine to simply say Merry Christmas.
This would not be likely to get you a direct return but is an excellent way to raise your profile and get your brand out there.
We hope that this helped give you some food for thought! If you would like to discuss your Christmas marketing strategy then we would be more than happy to help!
